Additionally, Shannon is the author of Library For All picture books Seashells for Stories and Way Back When, alongside projects for Heinemann Publishing and Northstar Editions. In 2022, she was a contributing author to Goodnight Stories For Rebel Girls: 100 Inspiring Young Changemakers, which featured on a NYC billboard and Oprah’s Favorite Things List for the year. She has also dabbled in screenwriting, undertaking the ElevateUs mentorship program with Screen Australia and WIFT in 2024. Shannon holds a BA in creative writing, professional writing, and publishing from Curtin University. She also holds a master’s in environmental science, with big plans to continue her work as a woman in STEM. Additionally, Shannon is a singer-songwriter crafting indie tracks centred on love and hope. Her debut song, Jack & Rose, was praised for its emotive lyricism, lo-fi sound, and incorporation of nature sounds. Her later releases, including What Do I Know? and In This Light, have earned playlisting opportunities and radio plays both in Australia and internationally. Shannon is happiest when surrounded by books, music, and nature.
